So I took off from job 1 today for an hour to make a contact sheet of the roll I developed last night. Half the roll was shot on a Holga 120 and the other half on my new Yashica. Only two from the Yashica came out how I really wanted them but that is no biggie. I am still learning and apparently having some exposure issues still. Meh, I think, for being self taught, that its going pretty well.
Hard week last week. But I am proud of myself. Last week I learned how to develop my own B&W film (saving me so much money) and also how to do my own B&W prints. Its amazing and so goddamn fun. I think I have a new addiction to the darkroom.
I am able to develop my own B&W film now. I am pretty proud of myself. This week I also got a new Camera. A Yashica D TLR. Its really fun and I can tell I am going to shoot a lot with it. I need to get better on my exposure settings so I can stop carting my SLR around to meter with. Off to work!
My pictures just shipped to me from Dwayne's Photo. That seemed hella quick! I guess that it has been a week since I put them in the mail last Friday. I bet I will get them on Monday or Tuesday. Stoked!
So yesterday Stacy and I were coming up from downstairs at BART and there was a dude playing guitar and a woman playing banjo. They were both singing too and had the richest harmonies! I instantly asked Stacy to get my camera out of my bag and made sure it was ok to take pictures of them. They said it was fine so I did! Turns out they are in a little band called The Skinny and they are awesome! I am planning on taking some more pictures of them tonight if I can make it to their show. Its right down the street but I also have a shit ton of Spanish work to do. Maybe I can convince Devon to just do it all for me and then have her wear a beard and go to my class...
